Chennai - Mahabalipuram
Today you will be transferred to Mahabalipuram, 64 km from Chennai (1-1.5 hrs drive), arrive and transfer to your hotel, later this afternoon you will visit the famous shore temples of Mahabalipuram, a perfect example of Pallavan art of sculpting rocks to build temples without brick, mortar or timber. Later proceed to Kanchipuram; visit famous 'Kailashnatha Temple' with a fourstoreyed tower and octagonal shikhara is a commendable piece of creativity. Also famous here are the world-renowned Kanchipuram hand woven silk & cotton fabrics. Overnight

Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
Today you will proceed to Pondicherry by road (176 kms/3-4 hrs). Arrive and proceed to your hotel. This afternoon you will visit the Aurobindo Ashram, which has been a seat of learning and Vedic cultures since ancient times, Move on to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, noted for its Gothic architecture and stained glass panels, which depict the entire life of Jesus Christ. Lastly you will visit Auroville, the planned city of Dawn of the new world. Located 20 kms north of Pondicherry town. Rest of the evening is at leisure, overnight at the hotel.

Enroute to Tanjore you will stop at Chidambaram to visit the famous Shiva temple known for its bronze statue of dancing Shiva. ON arrival proceed to your hotel. Afternoon visit the world famous Brihadeeshwara built in the 10th century. It is considered to be artistically the most perfect of Dravida temples. Proceed to the Palace built in the 16th century.
